Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award goes to Sounds In Sync for EdiLoad
Sydney, Australia (November 16, 2018) - Mark Franken, founder and lead developer at Sounds In Sync, announced today that his company will be a recipient of their second Emmy® Award, this time by The National Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). The Academy have acknowledged the part Sounds In Sync’s application EdiLoad has played in transforming the way sound tracks are created for television productions through Automated Sound Conformation.
This reputable award recognizes excellence in engineering, including innovative companies and leaders that are setting new standards for technological excellence in the television industry.
The Emmy® Award will be presented as part of the 70th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards, taking place in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), at the NAB Show at the Wynn Encore Hotel and Spa on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. In the announcement, Robert Seidel, Chairman of the Technology & Engineering Achievement Committee said, "Screen actors are always cited for Oscars. Stage performers are similarly proud of their Tonys. Television journalists are quick to add an Emmy® Award to their resume – and with good reason. We award the Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award to these outstanding companies and individuals who are the 'tool makers' of the industry that have materially affected the television viewing experience."
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award from the Academy for the development of EdiLoad and its predecessor EdiTrace", said Mark Franken. "We are excited to be recognized for the important part that these applications have played in the sound post-production industry, and we are grateful for our clients who have helped shape EdiLoad into the application that it is today".
Since creating their first sound re-conforming solution EdiTrace in 2003, Sounds In Sync have been a leader in creating work-flows to enable sound editors to "chase the picture edit" while allowing them to create their sound track.
Conforming (re-conforming) sound for picture changes has become a requirement for sound editors and mixers working in sound post-production with today's demanding schedules and budgets. Without tools like EdiLoad, sound editors and mixers would not have the time to design sounds, edit dialogue, or mix shows in time for client reviews and transmission.
