EdiLoad v6 has been released with some great new features.
The main update is found in the assembly window which allows EdiLoad to compare the waveforms of WAV files. It uses this new feature to phase align the clips in an assembly to one or more guide tracks. It also uses this feature to match WAV files to edit lists that contain no source timecodes, or WAV files to edit lists that do not contain any WAV metadata or file names.
The WAV File List window has also been updated and may now be a helpful tool for location sound recordists or DITs handling location sound files. During load, WAVs can be ignored that are duplicate, are named a particular way, or are contained within particular folders. Once loaded, the WAVs can be copied or split to mono. The new WAVs can be renamed, written to a new folder structure or a copy of the original folder structure, and all WAV metadata can be regenerated to make sure the data stored in the iXML and Bext chunks match.

Here’s a full list of what’s new:
- Assembly Window
- New 'Align Waveforms' function fixes any sync issues during assembly. PTX and AAF exports include markers showing sync changes.
- Window now has three match modes: 'Match By Edit Data' (as per EdiLoad v5), 'Match By File', and 'Match By Timecode'.
- Load one or more guide tracks for the 'Align Waveforms', 'Match By File', or 'Match By Timecode' functions.
- PTX and AAF exports now include all guide tracks that are loaded (mono only for AAFs).
- New 'Production Settings' menu stores all Assembly Settings and the location of loaded WAV Lib files and guide track WAV files in one of nine setting slots.
- PTX and AAF exports can now link to, copy from, or split to mono from the source WAVs.
- Match criteria can now match the edit list 'File Name' to the WAV file 'Orig File Name'.
- Match WAVs will now match to multiple match criteria options when required.
- 'Clean Events' no longer clears any 'Match WAVs' data.
- Added a 'Status Bar' to view and update important assembly settings directly.
- Can now Match and Align selected events with a right-click menu added to select pre-sets.
- New checkbox in the Assembly Settings Track Layout tab, auto assigns unique colors to each WAV channel name and assigns these colors to associated PTX tracks and clips.
- WAV File List Window
- Now provides the option to copy or split to mono all loaded WAVs.
- Exported WAV file names can be updated and include the metadata of each WAV.
- WAV files can be exported to a single folder, to child folders named with the Roll Name or Shoot Date, or to folders that replicate the structure of the source WAVs.
- WAV metadata can be re-generated during copy from whatever is available to set new iXML and Bext metadata that matches. Split WAVs always regenerate.
- Regenerated metadata creates a new PT Unique ID, SMPTE UMID and iXML UID.
- New import settings provided to ignore duplicate WAVs, WAVs named a particular way, or WAVs contained in particular folders.
- Main Window
- AAF imports now load the 'Sound TC' correctly and ignore unwanted events from DaVinci Resolve AAF exports.
- New 'Import Clip Gain' checkbox added during AAF imports displays gain in the Info column.
- The Column Transfer window 'Modify' controls now has the option to use Regular Expressions.
- Picture Cut and Scene Change track PTX file exports can now include markers.
- PTX file imports now read metadata from WAVs originating from OMFI MediaFiles folders.
- Reinstated Picture Cut track AAF exports as per EdiLoad v4.
- EDL exports now contain all shown events rather than all events when a filter is set.
- Pro Tools Re-Conform
- Fix for compatibility with Pro Tools 2024.10 and above on Windows
- Marker numbers now use four units (xxxx) if the highest event number is above 499
- A PTX file containing the re-conform markers can now be saved from the re-conform draw and loaded into the Pro Tools timeline once a re-conform is complete. This provides a way for Windows users to add re-conform markers and speeds up the re-con for macOS users.
- The re-conform keystroke speed is now adjusted in the preferences window, 'PT Re-con' tab.
- General
- All PTX file exports now contain an output bus 'OP' with each audio track assigned to this bus.
- PTX exports that link to 32bit WAVs no longer force Pro Tools to copy each WAV on PTX open.
- Size of text shown in lists can now be changes in the main, compare and assembly windows.
